Dr. Miras is a fully qualified specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
Dr Miras has gained his extensive experience and expertise in Gynaecology and Obstetrics by studying, training and working in different parts of the world for more than 20 years.
Since moving to Australia in 2003, he worked at the variety of Australian hospitals including first and the largest specialist hospital in Australia – The Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne), and the largest maternity care provider in Victoria – Monash Women’s (Monash Medical Centre, Victoria).
Dr Miras has a reputation for being a caring and compassionate doctor, who always considering his patients’ best interests.
As a specialist with a strong academic and practical background, he firmly believes that medicine should always be practiced with holistic approach and evidence based.
He dedicates time getting to know all of his patients, ensuring understanding of what their diagnosis means for them and what management options they have, empowering them to make fully informed decisions regarding their treatment
Miras’ main expertise is Gynaecologic Surgery and especially Minimally Invasive Procedures. He has a special interest in the surgical treatment of various gynaecological conditions such as pelvic organs prolapse and urinary incontinence, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts among others.
Dr Miras provides office procedures such as colposcopy and vulvoscopy with or without biopsy, pipelle endometrial biopsy, insertion and removal of intrauterine devices ( Mirena and copper IUD), incision and drainage of a Bartholin cyst or abscess et cetera.
Miras’ passion in finding new surgical procedures and most modern management options to help his patients driving him to ascertain more knowledge and experience all around Australia and the World. He regularly attends a wide range of trainings, master classes and workshops in the United States of America (Global Academy for Medical Education) , United Kingdom (London Medical Education Academy), Russia (Ural State Medical Education Academy) and Australia.

Gynaecology is the specialty that looks after the female reproductive system.
A gynaecologist applies medical and surgical therapies to treat conditions involving the uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina and vulva.
Some examples are: fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, endometrial polyps, irregular or heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, infertility, infections, polycystic ovaries, menopause and others.
Obstetrics is combined with gynaecology under the same surgical field, but it focuses on pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. An obstetrician looks after the pre and post-natal care and its various complications monitoring the pregnancy and dealing with some possible intercurrent diseases such as diabetes and hyper-coagulability. Obstetric emergencies include ectopic pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, placental abruption, foetal distress, shoulder dystocia, uterine rupture, prolapsed cord, obstetrical haemorrhage and puerperal sepsis.
